Dear Satori Staff and Families:
We want to welcome back all of our Satori families and make a special effort to welcome our new Satori families. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our annual ice cream social this Sunday. All of the children have been making ice cream under the direction of Chef Jim Murphy from KingFisher Restaurant. Ask them to tell you about their ice cream making experiences! The Ice Cream Social will run from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. It’s a great way to mingle and meet other parents, board members and children as well as enjoy the yummy ice cream. Sign-up sheets for extracurricular activities will be available on Sunday.
We are selling Innisbrook gift wrap for our Fall fundraising event. Jim and Jackie Murphy are our Fundraising Co-Chairs for this school year. They will be distributing your gift wrap packet. We received numerous parent requests to discontinue the Entertainment Books as our Fall fundraiser and to return to selling the gift wrap. We have several Entertainment Books in each office if you wish to purchase one.
We will offer Specialty classes during the school day e.g., music, Spanish, French, art, theatre arts, physical education when we return to school after Labor Day. We also begin our after-school activities (extracurricular) the first week in September. Sign-up sheets for the extracurricular activities will be in the office after the ice cream social.
Hot lunch begins on Monday, September 8th. Order forms will be distributed late next week.
Congratulations to
Angela Bennett (4th/5th grade teacher) on the birth of her baby girl. The class
has the privilege of having Angela and Mary (Vuke) as their teachers until Angela
returns full time and Kristina as their aide. Some of you may remember Kristina
when she taught physical education at Satori. She completed her Bachelor of
Science degree in Mathematics in 2001. The 4th/5th grade class’ theme
is “Perspectives.” The children created their “values”
which we would like to share with you.
P URSUE EXCELLENCE
E ntertain your imagination
R ESPECT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
S et your personal goals
P repare yourself for possibilities
E xercise your creativity
C arefully take risks
T ake time ______ (to be filled in accordingly)
I NTERACT WITH YOUR INNER SELF
V accinate yourself against perfectionism
E xpress yourself respectfully
We are fine tuning our sign-in and sign-out procedure. Brian has installed an
electronic sign-in/out program on the computers. This should
eliminate potential manual billing errors and save us time with billing. State
Licensing still requires a physical signature so please be
sure to sign your name daily on your child’s attendance sheet in the loose
leaf notebooks next to the computers. It is imperative that you use the electronic
sign-in/out system so that you will be billed appropriately.
