December 3, 2003
Dear Satori Staff
and Families:
It was wonderful
seeing you at the Thanksgiving Feast last Wednesday. The stone
soup, food prepared by the children, and the company were all a highlight! We
hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holiday time with your family.
Satori has adopted seven Tucson families to help for the Holidays. We gave every family a turkey and money for a Thanksgiving dinner. Please bring non-perishable food, new and gently used clothing, and new toys for your classes’ adopted family. Satori is committed to community service, and we want children to think of and help those less fortunate
Please join us tomorrow and Friday (December 4 and 5) at the Satori Math Fair for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Children in kindergarten and in first grade will be in their classrooms Thursday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. for you to visit and play math games. The second through fifth grade classes will have their “work” on display Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
We are mailing invitations to grandparents and special friends for Grandparents’/Family Friends’ Day on December 18. Please make sure we have a current address for whomever you would like us to invite.
The end of the year is approaching as is the December 31st deadline to contribute for scholarships in order to claim an Arizona State tax credit for your 2003 income tax. Please designate Satori and make your check payable to the Institute for Better Education (IBE.)
Staff development is this Friday afternoon (December 5.) All classes are dismissed at 12:45 p.m. All extracurricular classes are cancelled; we will be open for extended care until 5:30 p.m.
Scholastic Book orders are arriving over the next two weeks. If you are planning to use your purchases as a gift and you would rather not have the books put in your parent file or sent home, please let the office know.
Jo and Courtney’s K/1 class and Sherry and Robbi’s K/1 class have their winter art work on display at the Woods Library. Stop by to see their creations.
Children with a 100 degree fever or higher may not be in school. They must be fever free, without medication, for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to school.
